Michael Keefe, Teacher
Michael is a builder, artist, and land steward based in Crestone, CO. He and his partner Lydia Sprouts are the hosts of Coyote Mountain, an off-grid micro retreat. Michael has great interest in the pursuit of healthy living, a journey which has led him down many alternative pathways.
As a builder in the conventional construction world, he found much to be desired working with and surrounded by many forms of toxic building materials, even when building “green” homes.
Rammed Earth construction caught his attention as being one of the most practical non-toxic building methods. Fire, water, mold, and rodent proof, non toxic, energy efficiency via thermal mass… and incredibly beautiful; Rammed Earth checked all the boxes.
Michael has since become a student of Rammed Earth construction and is excited to share what he has learned.
